Imperial Carnival Glass
The
Imperial Glass Company was established in 1901 and began producing
iridescent carnival glass in 1909.
Imperial was known for manufacturing patterns that were more
sculptural and geometric than representative of nature (e.g. fruit,
leaves) that other manufacturers favored.
As
well as producing large quantities of marigold carnival glass,
Imperial introduced new colors including smoke (light blue-grey) and
clambroth (see picture).
Imperial carnival glass was particularly well known for their rich
iridescence.
